* 2008 Standings Here is the lowdown on the 5th MACC race on October 4th!
By Steve Oyer
It was another nice day and no rain around………..the DA was +1500 @ 77 degrees and stayed about the same all day. We had a near normal 6 cars come to play; I thank all those that came out to support us! AND a West Coast racer Dave Dowdell “Blue85L98” on the CF shooting pics! We had some good discussions in the pits. Hey Dave, were is the vids/pics?..............LOL
The Race:
Jeter led the class during the two qualifying runs with a 9.8xs at 137+mph. Looking like no gimies in the 1st round! Dennis and I are verbally swinging at each other for the points lead. I have him by 22 going into today, that’s not enough!
In the first round:
Jeter takes out Geer with a 9.81 on a 9.79 with a .03 light via a red light. To bad for Geer as it would have been a close race with Geer’s 11.4957 on a 11.50! Carlton with a 13.33 on a 13.29 dial and a .13 light takes out Oyer’s 12.48 on a 12.40 dial with a .28 light……..Dave, need the pics of the guy with his blower in front of me as I stage the 2nd light! The r/ts for both are nothing to write home about but Oyer can’t run the number anyway. Due to the no show of a new Vette to our challenge (He never heard the announcement till it was too late!) bad way to go out………I am sorry you missed another round. Robertson has the bye and runs a 9.86 @138. Oyer buys back to have some more racing fun in the 2nd round. Geer is done for the day and heads back home. The track picks whom I race……………Jeter it is AGAIN!
Semi-Finals:
Carlton takes out Robertson in a very close race with a 13.35 on a 13.29 dial with a .08 light vs. a 10.05 on a 9.90 with a .09 light…….looked close to me from the burn out box! Jeter advances with a 9.83 on a 9.79 with an .07 light taking out Oyer cause he doesn’t let off the go pedal enough at the end….breaking out by .0173 with a 12.47 on a 12.49 with an .08 light.
Finals:
It all comes down to Jeter being closer to his dial………with a 9.82 on a 9.80 vs. Dennis’s 13.34 on a 13.39. RTs were close with Carlton’s .0816 to Jeter’s .0906 it made for a close call at the stripe……….
