Here is the lowdown on the 2nd MACC race on May 24th!

By Steve Oyer

Even though it was Memorial Day Weekend, we worked with the track to get 6 dates, and this Saturday afternoon event was one of them. It was a nice day and no rain around again!………..the DA was:
  • +1070 2:54 pm 75 degrees
  • +818 3:54 pm 71 degrees
  • +818 4:54 pm 71 degrees
  • +818 5:54 pm 71 degrees
  • +875 6:54 pm 72 degrees
  • +616 7:54pm 68 degrees
  • +230 8:54pm 62 degrees

The Race:
With 3 cars, I led the class during our 2 run qualifiers with a 6.98x at 99+mph in the 1/8 mile. Since Joe is a new racer and he ask for help…I am give him tips on how to race and dial in the car.

In the first round:
We let the track pick who got the bye........A shake of the bottle gives me the comp bye! So Dennis and Joe line up…..Dennis leaves better off the tree by more than a 10th, and never gives up the advantage with a 13.48 on a 13.43 dial. Joe trying to catch him breaks out with a 13.17 on a 13.25 dial.

2nd round:
oe wants to buy back……..Since I got the bye last time, I can’t take it again even with the best RT of the round…so Joe & I line up. I tree him by almost 2/10ths off the line with a .06 vs. a .23 with a slow 11.20 on an 11.00 dial to Joe’s 13.12 on a 13.19 with him off the gas no less! He breaks out again so I take the win for sure. If he didn’t break out and run his # he may have won due to my car slowing down….

3rd round Finals:
Dennis takes the win with a 13.63 on a 13.48 dial as my car slows way down to an 11.46 on an 11.18. Even though I cut a little better tree of a .094 vs. .125………hard to make up for a near 3/10ths miss dial!..tranny is broke again.
